[Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 1. 7'he estates of 21C deceased portions were certified by the Commissioner of Stamps during July. The Ugliest were those of Johann C. Whitte (£25,106) and John Gilbert (£15,283), Christchurch ; and James Huston (£15,v95). Wellington. 7’he Railways Department haa withdrawn its objection to the erection of the ornamental arches which were included in tho original design of the near- post ofiicc for Auckland. The Hon. J. A. Millar yesterday stated that ho had decided to* withdraw the objection, though the department considered the arches would enormously hamper the traffic between the station and Queen street. The arches will be 47ft high, with openings 20tt in width.
