MR HOLMAN RETURNS. WILL AWAIT ThF BY-ELECTIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, July 31. Mr Wade announces that, owing to his inability to persuade the LieutenantGovernor to grant a dissolution, he has returned his commission to form a Ministry. Mr Holman had a second interview with the Lieutenant-Governor, who asked him to withdraw the resignation of the Government, and granted the condition previously asked for—namely, that Parliament should prorogue over the. coming by-elections-Mr Holman consented, and prorogation will issue to-morrow. Meantime the Government will continue in power.
The, Central Executive of the Political Labor League has decided to consider Mr Dunn's application for nomination as the party’s candidate for the seat he resigned.
