The mob then charged the police, who tired a revolver in the air, which temporarily subdued the crowd. A fresh outbreak followed at, the lock-up, where stones were thrown and a call was made to rescue the prisoners. The disturbance afterwards subsided.

They contemplate asking the Government to take action.
