WASHINGTON, duly 29.
A coalition between the Progressive Republicans or Insurgents and the Democrats is impending, and a far-reaching revision of the tariffs is proposed. The Farmers' Free List Bill will be compromised, and the Wool BUI and probably the Cotton Bill will be passed—all in the direction of lowering duties. The main intention of the Farmers' Frew Lift Bill is to recompense- agriculturists for probable loss under Canadian Reciprocity. President Taft is pledged to await the- report of the Tariff Board before, assenting to r»vw tariff legislation. Consequently the. President is likely to bo compelled tp veto the above measures, which will have been passed by ths help of the Republican vote.
