PRISONERS SENTENCED.
■WELLINGTON 1 , July 29. Several prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Chapman to-day. Harold Spencer, who had pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and to theft, i was sentenced to six months’ impnson--1 incut and four years’ reformative detention. George M'Donald, for obtaini ing money by false pretences, received : 12 mouths and five year.-/ detention,. | Bertio Smith, charged with a series of ! warehouse thefts, 12 monthsand I Alfred Smith, receiving a quantity or j stolen property, nine months. Sentence ’ on Earnest Gregory, implicated in these : iast-mentiouod tJiefts, was deferred, i Arthur Harold Bunn, a solicitor at I Palmerston North, was sentenced to 12 I mouths for theft of sums totalling 1^228-
