FLOODS IN CANTERBURY.
♦ Telegraphed from Christ church that Lakes " Forsyth and. Eilesmere overilovved their "banks yesterday, with tha result that the land for miles round was flooded and many settlers had to vacate their homes. The iloods subsided this afternoon, though the melting snows will keep the rivers high.
