The Cardiff strikers, •fieluding a formidable hooligan element, made a ooneerled attack on the skating link, which is being used as the quarters of the imported metropolitan police. 'The riot continued throughout Saturday niyht. The police drove the mob into the street, but the use by the rioters of broken bottles and bags tilled with stones necessitated several, truncheon charges. The jwlice also struck dozens of strikers with their fists. Many shop fronts were wrecked, and the windows of privtite houses broken. Twenty of the police were seriously hurl.
