TRAMWAYS CONFERENCE.
[Special to the Star.] WELLINGTON, July 25. The conference opened here yesterday. Mr Smith (deputy mayor) in the chair. The following districts were represented: Auckland (2 delegates), Napier (2), Wiinjaiiui (3), Palmerston North (1), Wellington (7), Christchurch (3), Dunedin (3), Roslyn (3), Mornington (2), Kaikora; (2). Invercargill (1). On the motion of the southern delegates business was taken in committee. A committee of experts was set up to import to the conference.
