LODGE MEETINGS.
The ordinary meeting of tho Hope of Dunedin Lodge of Good took the form of an "at home" on Friday evening, and was a most successful function. The C.T. (Bro. Clark) presided, and welcomed the visitors, included amongst whom were Bro. Hill (Hope of Winchmore, Ashburton County) ,Bro. Palton (special deputy), Sister Cameron (G.S.J.W.), and others. During the course of an interesting address Bro. Hill conveyed the greetings of the Ashbirrton and Timarui Lodges, and gave encouraging accounts of "how the cause speeds on its way "up there. Bro. Dalton also spoke a few words, and referred to the uphill work in the places where Bro. Hill had come from, and the victories gained by earnest work. The musical part opened with a piano selection by Sister Hobson, who also acted as accompanist. Miss Reid, Miss Hobson, and Sister Clarkson gave vocal items, and Sister Rolls a recitation. The second part opened with a bagpipe selection by Bro. Morrison, then some more musical items were contributed, and competitions, which created great amusement, were entered into, Sister Gain and Bro. Hill being the judsres. The impromptu speeches were especially good. The winners a>gaiir resulted in the L.D. and Sec. being first.
