(Received May 24, at 9.30 a.m.) Tin l Acting Federal Premier (Mr Hughes), discussing Mr Holman's (Acting Premier, New .South Wales) suggestion regarding a Vancouver service from Australia, declared that it was infinitely preferable that the Common wealth should do these things. There wero no insuperable difficulties in the way of arranging such a service as Mr Holman desires to see. Upon a satisfactory settlement of (he- Aus-Irnlian-Canadtan reciprocity question a
shipping scheme would follow naturally. The only-obstacle to the Commonwealth subsidising a sendee touching at New Zealand would then be removed.
