(Received May 1. at 9.40 a. in J There was a sensational shooting affair at Renmark last night, whan the wa-t-ehmaii Odgers surprised a ra;m who was attempting to lire the fruit-packing union's shed. 'J'ho man tired a revolver, and the bullet struck Odgers in the breast and pierced his coat, hut a stiff-backed pocket book prevented it inflicting a wound. Odgers returned the lire, and a desperate struggle followed, during which the man again fired. Odgers was wounded in tho leg, and he alio received some nasty injuries from a weapon used by the desperado, who eventually got away.
