rearrrßfrn POWER STOPPED A severe ( sfonn accompanied ay Tightntng swep4 over Waipori at J-«w this afternoon- \A waterspout at t!:o Waipori Falls did damage to one oi the lightning avertejs, with the result that the power was cut off and the trams brought to a standstill until 2.30, when repairs were effected and everything was again in working order. The waterspout did not extend as far ae fcbo Loch Loudon dam, there being no rain there at aIL At the pover-hotuso proper the garden and some of the roads were considerably damaged. The storm at half-past two was at Outranz, while at that hour it was perfectly fine at Waipori. _ j The machinery in the ' Star' Office, which is driven by Waipori power, was brought to a standstill on three or four occasions during the afternoon. This naturally necessitated delay in setting the " copy," it being past four o'clock before wa made a fair start. Our readers will accept, this as an explanation in case of the late delivery of the paper.
