Tho Amalgamated Society of Engineers on the north-east coast have accepted an advance of Is and 2j per cent, when the boilermakors' lock-out terminates, and a similar amount six months later. The agreement is binding for live years. A COhMERY STRIKE. •SYDNEY, December 6. (Received December 6, at 9.35 a.m.) There is a strike in the Abermain colliery, owing to a dispute over payment for pillars. Six hundred and lifty men arc idled. LUMPERS ON STRIKE. ADELAIDE, December 6. (Received December 6, at 9.5 a.m.) Tho lumpers on the steamer Gracchus struck against unloading a cargo of Java sugar because the bags are above tho prescribed weight.
