TERRITORIALS IN CAMP
[Per United Pkess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, December 5. 'flic Christchurch Territorials are now in camp for a week, 400 men of the infantry battalion being under canvas, while the artillery, engineer, and cyclist companies have separate camps. Tho Kaiapoi and Kangiora companies are also undergoing training in their own localities. The Lyttelton Garrison Artillery are in camp at Fort Jcrvois, and in connection with this camp a difficulty has arisen regarding big gun practice, it is reported that when tlio Australasian squadron were last in Lytteltou Harbor' the Admiral refused to sanction firing practice from tho port, but as the ships departed before tho conclusion of their camp, the volunteers were able to carry out their programme. This year the Navals will probably have to go into camp for a few days later on to do the firing, the officer commanding the district having issued an order that no big gun firing is to be done while tho warships are in port.
