(Received November 29> at 9 a.m.) Tho Board of Education are withholding £65,967 from the London County Council because tho chases in tho county 6chools are exceeding sixty pupils. The Council, in reply, say they havo long been, hurrying forward tho building of schools. [There are hundreds of unemployed certificated teachers in London, and it is contended that a great number of these would be employed if the Comity Council reduced the number of pupils in a class to that required by th© Education Board. At present the classes are said to bo largely in excess of the standard. The Board's requirements are as follow : Head teacher, 35; each assistant teacher, 60; each uncertificated teacher, 35; each student teacher, 20; each supplementary teacher, 20; each provisional assistant teacher, 20.]
