(Received November 2, at 9.35 a.m.) Representations have been made to the Minister of Customs (Mr Tudor) that the Australian timber industry is being crippled by the small sizes of New Zealand kauri now imported, and the Minister was asked to put a duty thereon. Mr Tudor promised that the Cabinet would consider the matter, but he did not think any action would be taken till there was a general revision of the tariff.
