MANAWATU SHOW
[Per United Press Association.;] PALMERSTON” N., November 2. • Beautiful weather prevails for the opening day of the Manawatu A. and P. Association spring show, and the attendance promises to bo well up to the records of previous opening days. Minor classes—produce, poultry, and home industries—are being judged to-day, the stock divisions coming up for decision to-morrow. The competition in the three sections mentioned is very keen, the entries being representative of a wide area. The show of farmers’ separator and non-separator butter is excellent. First awards for separator butter were secured by W. Henson (Raumai) and for non-separator butter by Miss J. Balsillie (Palmerston North). Home industries were a strong class. The first prize for home-made bread, for which there were twenty entries, was obtained by Miss Palmer (Levin).
