OPERA PROGRAMMES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I should like to endorse the re- i marks of “Opera” in reference to the; absence of programmes at the grand opera, and to add that the management again carried out their policy of the first night in this respect. Your excuse regarding nripreparedncss hardly holds good, as the bookings are a. safe and reliable guide to ■ the patronage that can confidently be ex- : peotod. Moreover, if the management, desire to rectify their miscalculation of ! the first night they could with ease hatve supplied all the programmes required for ■ last, night’s performance.—l am, etc.. Nemo. July 8. [“Nemo” must surely be aware that; there are no “ bookings ” for the pit. It was as to that class of patrons solely that “Opera” complained in regard to tire' paucity of programmes.—Ed. E.S.]
