Daring vho discussion in the House of Commons on the Lords’ amendment to the Development Bill, the Speaker ruled that (he amendment would increase the chargee upon the public funds, and was therefore a breach of the House’s privilegee. The amendment "was thereupon negatived.
NO PRIVILEGES WILL BE WAIVED
A PLAIN DECLARATION

When the Speaker intervened regarding the Lords’ amendment to the Development Bill, Mr Lloyd-Georgo declared that, the question of privilege having been raised, he refused the amendment, adding; “We do,not intend to waive our privileges upon any matter.’’
