CRIMINAL SITTINGS.
WELLINGTON, November 26. At the Supreme Court to-day a young woman named Mary Ann Smith, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of making a false declaration tinder the Marriage Act, was convicted and ordered to conic up for sentence when called upon, the Judge being of the opinion that the declaration was made without fraudulent intent. Four youths were variously sentenced from one to three months’ imprisonment for what His Honor described as a case of systematic raiding of private houses.
