ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
Ah Chew, aged sixty-three years, died suddenly when coming down from Lawrence to the Danedin Hospital yeaterdav. He had previously been under "treatment for heart disease. A young woman and her brother saw the headless body of a man off Purakanui yesterday, and without attempting to land it, informed the police. Two constables went out from Port to-day, but bad net returned at time of going to press. An inmate of Seaeliff Mental Hospital escaped some weeks ago, and was last seen between the railway line and the sea. The thing seen might have been his remains.
