ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.

A telegram from Taihape .states that a serious accident occurred yesterday to Norman Gowdy (aged nine),*son of a settler. He was bucked off a horse, and failed to clear the stirrup iron. The horse kicked him into tho air, fracturing his skull seriously. The boy was brought- in this morning about fifteen miles, and sent to the Wanganui Hospital. He had not regained consciousness. A young married man named George Ernest Murray, while riding a bicycle, camo into collision with a horse and cart in Wellington yesterday. He received concussion of tho brain and fracture of the skull. A P.A. message received this afternoon s tat as that Murray is dead. James Smart was on Saturday nicht knocked over by a motor car at Richmond (Christ-church), and received injuries which necessitated his removal to the hospital, William Robertson was drowned in Bluff Harbor on Saturday through a boat beinoswamped. The deceased was about thirty years of age. An Auckland message states that Alfred Smith, aged fifty-seven, residing with a friend at Mount Eden, was found in his bedroom staggering about with a gash in his throat from ear to ear. He died just as a doctor arrived.
