MEETINGS AND SOCIALS.
HARVEST FESTIVAL. Harvest festival services were held at the Kew Primitive Methodist Church on Sunday to large congregations. The Rev. S. Bailey, in the morning, preached from Deuteronomy, 24, 19, "The forgotten sheaf." In the afternoon the Eev. G. Knowles Smith (kite of Paisley. Scotland) took his text from St. John, 12-24. "Except a com of wheat fall into the ground and die it ahddcth not." In the evening Mr Smith preached from Job, xii.. 7, 8. 9™ " But ask now the beasts, and they' shall' teach thee and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee, or speak to the earth and it shall_ teach thee." The speaker illustrated his discourse principally from Nature and its effects. After the evening sen-ice. the choir rendered in an efficient manner the cantata 'Rolling reasons.' Mr J. Davidson conductor, Miss J. Coatsworth organist.
This evening a sale of goods will be held and n welcome social given to Mr and Mrs Smith.
