PERSONAL.
Mr John M arris, an old West Coast identity, died at Weatport. He was one of the pioneers of the saw-mulling industry. Mr James Livingston, accountant to Messrs Powley and Keast, was an Christmas Eve presented by the firm with a silver s>alver and by the employees with a case of pipes and cigar-holder. Mr Livingston is leaving the linn's employ to enter into business with Mr J, A. Haggitt, The death is announced of i)r Hugh Waddell, medical officer at Pembroke. The deceased, who was in his thirty-fifth year, was a nephew of the" Rev. Dr Waddell, of Dunedin.
