Mr Asquith has decided,, despite the dissatisfaction of the Temperance advocates and the Labor members, to abandon the attempt to prohibit under the Licensing Bill the employment of barmaids. A NEW ZEALAND TRAINING SHIP. LONDON, November 3. In tho House of Commons, Colonel Seely, replying to Mr J. B. Lonsdale, said that ho was anxious to facilitate New Zealand’s wishes in regard to acquiring an Imperial vessel for naval-training purposes. He was again communicating with the Lords of the Admiralty on the matter.
