No sitting of the Dunedin Stock Exchange was held to-day owing to the death of a member, Mrt’Harry Shrimpton. The Kura dredge-master reports for the week ended October 21 that tho ground continues very tight and very severe on the buckets and pins. Width of face, 60yds; depth of ground, 29ft. Sometime was lost owing to the bucket chain parting, and allowing the buckets to drop into the paddock. Some difficulty was experienced in getting,them up, as they got tied into a knot on the bottom. The total proceeds from Mount Morgan, the Premier mine in Queensland, since the formation of the company in July, 1886, till May, 1908, have been £l4-,050,049 ; total expenditure, £6,432,368; and total dividends, £7,079,167. . At Hillgrove, New South Wales, scheelite sold recently at £4O per ton. The largest parcel of scheelite ever’ sold "by one party for a month’s work in Australia was disposed of by. Curry and party; it weighed 10 tons 2cwt, and brought £42 per ton. * The Shotover Quartz Company’s reef is being systematically worked under the management of Mr M‘Donald, and good headway is being made.
