u Dr Gray writes in ‘ Science Siftings ’ that “the high value of hot lemon juice in whisky in incipient influenza and other violent fresh colds arises from the action of citric acid on the invading disease before it develops to serious conditions beyond the bronchial and alimentary surfaces, thus not seldom stopping the trouble ore there are perilous, complications to combat. Diluted lemon juice in. clysters will kill germs of Asiatic cholera in less time than anv other applicable preparation known, and is one of the best remedies obtainable in the iu : iianimation or ulceration of typhoid fever.”
