EMPLOYERS’ FEDERATION.
[Per United Press Association.} , WELLINGTON, May 5. Encouraging reports as to the prospective formation of branches of the' New Zealand Employers’ Federation at Oatharu, liniaru, andGifeborhe have been received. At a meeting of the Advisory Board a letter was received by the Board from the Wanganui Freezing Company. The communication stated that in February the hands demanded an increase of pay, saying that work would not be gone on with unless the increase was given, and the company, being busy, conceded the demands. The facts were brought before the Minister of Labor, and the inspector replied that no strike had taken place, as the company were voluntarily giving the increase, and that no action could be taken by the department. The company, on the other hand, say they were forced! to agree to the demands, wliich were granted under protest.
