“ Live and Let Live ” is of opinion that all business premises in South Duuediif should close at a reasonable hour. “ H.O. ” writes ;—“ lam a visitor from Melbourne, and have visited the reading rooms of the four cities in New Zealand, and Dunedin is the only one at which 1 have been invited to leave. 1 didn’t go to the place shabbily dressed either. I think I can safely sav in no other part of Australasia, or of the world reallv, would anyone encounter this treatment.”—[Our correspondent has a grievance, not against the Athenaeum (if that was the place he went boh but against Dunedin, but if ho returns shortly he will find a free library here—E.S.] J
