With a break of several lengths and a. flying start, running close to the trosties and leading all the way, he covered a mile and a-half and about eighty yards in 2min 46ysec, easily beating Volume and Apologue, who finished together several lengths away. Ellerton was six lengths further back, and Rustique, who was lame after pulling up, last. Apologue covered roost ground.
