Douglas taking up the bowling, ami displacing Arkwright’s Eiil fifth ball. Luxford followed, making 2 before falling to Simpson-Hayward. Broad succeeded, but after three balls fell to Simpson-Hayward. 67—7—0. Wilder oarno next, but only managed to run "y when ho was caught by Simpson-Hayward. 80 — B—6,8 —6, Howard then partnered Cave, tho latter playing ’iory (steady cricket. Torrens relieved .Hayward, and short'y ufbjr Cave fell to Douglas. 87—9 —65. Hutchings followed, and after making a. brirardaiy was clean bowled by Torrens. 98--10 —4. W. Joyce succeeded, hut remained but a few minutes, when he was out to Torrens. Brown came next, and took a stand, and the scoring was painfully slow, live overs producing as many mu*. Resuming their innings on tho Caledonian Ground this afternoon tho home team put together 221 for six wickets, and they' declared their innings closed. Eckhold made 67 not out and Courtis 61 out.
