Savoury, and Munjeet left for Palmerston North on Thursday to fulfil their respective engagements at tho Manawatu meeting. Tiie Nelson filly Stratagem, in Cuifs’s stable, has gone amiss. X’retty Face was purchased by a Southern sportsman. She is now under the.care of W. J Taggart, with whom she will remain until she is sent to her new home in Central Otago to take part in tiie meetings around tho goldfields during the New Year. Alexis and Stepdancer have resumed work. The two-year-olds Pretty Nell and Master Leslie have been turned out for a spoil. The Christchurch Racing Club were fortunate enough to secure lino weather on both days of their summer meeting, and ns a good shower of rain on tho day preceding the opening day had freshened up the course the going loft little room for complaint.
