Cr Loudon spoke, in support- of an application from Nevada residents, declined by the Reserves Commit tee, in which permission -was sought to have bush adjacent to roads through the Town Belt cut back. Reports from Mr Tannock and the Council's assistant engineer against cutting back the bush were read, and tho Council decided to stand by them and the Reserves Committee.

Messrs D. Thoomin. G. L. Dcnniston. ind the Mayor were appointed Dur.edin Sinking Fund Ccrmnissioners for tho ensuing vear. The Mavor. and Crs Harrison, bririsley. White, Shacklock. Crust. Connor, and Rutherford were appointed delegates to attend the Conference to decide whether Wednesday or Saturday shali be the weekly haif-bolidav for shoos and shop assistants. Tenders for the erocticn of a wall and fence along the embankment of the Maori Hill reservoir were referred to the Water Committee.
