We are pleased to hear thai the Hon. Geo. McLean passed a satisfactory night, that Tuesday's operation was successful, and that his medical attendants have-every hope of a permanent recovery. Mr Justice Edwards, whose health has for 6ome time past 6hown a need .for recruiting, is to receive twelve months' leave of absence for a holiday trip. His Honor, accompanied by Sirs and Miss Edwards, will leave Auckland shortly to catch the P. and 0. steamer Mongolia, which leaves Sydney on Fehrnnry 2. They will travel by her as fax a« Egypt, where thev propose to stay for some little time at C;iiro, afterwards" visiting Tunis and Algiers.
