LONDON, Sept-ember 24. The Dutch troops have captured Rajah Badoeng's stronghold, on the Island of Bali. The Rajah and all his household, including his wives, committed suicide. A Dutch official account states that 400 men, women, and children perished in a final desperate sortie. [The population of Bali and Lombok is approximately 1,050,000. The territory of the Dutch East Indies is divided into (1) lands under direct government, (2) vassal lands, and (5) confederated lands. The superior administration and executive authority vests in the Governor-General and a Council of five, who are appointed by the Queen of the Netherlands.
