Brander walked from London to Brighton in 503£ minutes, establishing a record. [The distance is uncertain, being dependent upon the starting point and the road taken, but from forty-seven to fifty miles may be taken as approximately correct.] HONGKONG, September 24. The body of Bishop Hoare, who was drowned during the typhoon, has been recovered.
