10.000 LIVES LOST.

HONGKONG, September 22. The latest particulars concerning the disastrous typhoon at Hongkong state that 10,000 lives have been lost. The increased death roll is due to the loss of tho whole of the Chinese fishing fleet, consisting of 600 junks.
Active measures are being taken for the relief of the sufferers
_ The Norddeutscher Lloyds Com pany have given 6,000 marks (about £300) to the relief fund, and the Chinese in San Francisco have cabled 10,C00dol (£2,000).
