DUPLICATE RECEIPTS MUST BE STAMPED.

NAPIER, September 24. A stamp duty case, in which a tradesman was charged with failing to stamp a duplicate receipt, was again before the Court to-day, when the defendant, on legal advice, pleaded guilty. The Magistrate (Mr Brabant) said he considered the advice was good, as, having carefully read tho Act-, ho believed that duplicate receipts required stamping equally with the originals. A nominal fine was imposed.
