Owing to the straining, of the keel of the battleship Hindustan when she was drydocked at Gibraltar, her steering apparatus has been found to be so defective that her crow will be transferred to the cruiser Britannia. The . work of overhauling the Hindustan will occupy some months. [The Hindustan was built in 1905. She carries eighteen guns, has a tonnage of 16,350 tons, is a first class battleship, with a speed of 18.5 knots, and is attached to the Atlantic fleet.
