The Mount Lyell returns from July 19 to August 15 show that 25,338 tons of ore were treated, together with 259 tons of purchased ore. The converters produced 739 tons of blister copper, yielding 731 tons of couper, 50oz of silver, and 1,4310z of gold. The Punt dredge was stopped on Wednesday to allow of minor repairs being effected, and there will be no wash-up this week.

The Golden Gate dredge is now working on hex new claim —a mile of the river Molynenx. The fifteenth annual report of the Golden Run Company shows that £5,500, equal to 10s per share, has been paid in dividends during the year ended June 30 last. Arrangements have been completed, and the necessary documents signed, securing to the company fifty acres of ground which immediately adjoins the dredgmg claim. It is Hie intention of the directors at an early date to start hydraulic sluicing on a portion of the claim. The balance-sheet shows that the expenditure during the year was £5,192 0s Bd, and the value of the gold won £11,003 12s 3d. When the books closed sundry creditors were owed £Bl3 13s lOd, and the bank account stood £359 17s 9d in credit. The response to the debenture issue of £1,250 decided on by the Alpine No. 2 Company has reached a total of £940, and the dredge is te be put into commission again next week.
