ATHLETES FROM AUSTRALIA.

[Special to thb Stajl] CHRISTCHURCH, August 4. .Mr E. Nordon, a member of the Exhibition Sports Committee, has returned from a visit to Australia. He made inquiries regarding probable visitors from the Au6tralian athletic world, and found that G Parley and 0. H. Brook (Australasian champions) and J. Plunkett, the three fastest cyclists in the Commonwealth, had decided to take part in the cycling carnival in December, and that a large number of prominent Australian axemen will attend tho axemen's carnival. It is also very probable that the various amateur athletic associations will combine to send a team t<i compete for the amateur athletic championship. '
