A depot of explosives was discovered in the Bulgarian monastery at Mount Athos. Seven monks were arrested.
[Mount Athos is in Turkey, at tho extremity of the peninsula of Chalcis, eighty miles south-east of Salonica. There are several villages, and twenty-two convents, as well as chapels, cells, and grottos, which are occupied by about 3,000 monks. Athos is famous for its theological 6chool and libraries. The latter have given to the learned world the MSS. of many masterpieces of ancient Greek literature.]
