DRAINAGE BOARD REPORTS.

The following reports will be submitted at to-night's meeting of the Dunedin Drainage Board:— —Works Committee— Re contract 118 (reticulation of Bond and iohce streets): The tender of Messrs Matluson Bros, has been accepted.—The tender of Mr T. Scurr has been accepted for contract 120 (blacksmith's work) — touching the reinstatement of kerbing, Castle street, the town clerk, Dunedin, has been informed that, as the Board's conditions of contract require the contractor for the reticulation of Castle street to produce a certificate from the city engineer of bis satisfaction with the condition of the road, the contractor should receive instructions direct from the city engineer.—The Prince Inward ditch was cleaned out about a month ago, and the town clerk, St. Kilda has been so informed, in reply to a complaint received by him from Mr Ings.—Rs a claim from Mr A. C. Havnes on account of damage to bicycle caused through alleged Tl , ct ?* b S htin 8 tho Board's works in Athol place, after inquiry the Committee advise the Board to decline liability—The progress of the main intercepting sewer for the period covered by the fortnight's accounts pawed by the Committee is 352 ft finished work, 207 ft pipes laid, and 204 ft trench bottomed. The reticulation of Alhol place between St. Andrew and Hanover streets, has also been completed and five manholes put in.—Re the reticulation of Castle street (contract 102), -extras have been authorised amounting to £2O 18s 9J —Tenders have been invited for the reticulation of portions of Leith, St. David, and Dundas streets.—Re the reticulation of Playfair and John streets, Caversham: As the pipes at present laid can be reused, the Lommittee rocommend that this work bo *"» labor at an estimated cost of il<W.—rhe following expenditure has been authorised:—For cleaning main intercepting sewer where necessary, repairs to tide gates, Wilbe road, Manor place sewers, house connection E. W. Taylor (refund count)— The engineer's recommendation that the Board's monier plant should be offered for sale in about a month's time has been agreed to, and he lias been anthorised to prepare schedules of the same. —Finance Committee. Since Iho last meeting of the Committee the sum of £385 6s 6d has been paid into the bank.—Re accident insurance, the quotation of the South British Company being the lowest was accepted.—The Committee recommend that the Board disclaim liability in respect of the claim addressed to the town clerk, St. Kilda, from Mr Willismson for damage sustained through his falling into a ditch in St. Kilda.—The bank pass books were .'aid on the table, showing the following credits:—Aggregate fond £10,204 6s lOd; trust account, £55 15s lOd; also Savings Bank deposit books for £2OO.
