The Rev. Mr Worrall, in the course of a sermon at Bendigo, denounced Sir Samuel GJlott, Chief Secretary of State, in connection with the recent gambling tragedies.' He impeached him with the guilt of the blood flowing from the wounds of tli© gamblers. It was nonsense, he said, for the State Secretary to pretend that he was powerless to stop the scourge which; was creating a very Gethsemane of woe and tioubie.
Mr Bent, the State Premier, says that he will arrest Mr Worrall if he possibly can, adding: "I'll straighten him up." Mr Worrall, in the course of an interview, said that the tragedy at Flemington would never have occurred if the authorities had exercised ,the power the law gave them.
Several further arrests have been made in connection with MTjOod's murder. His mother has gone insane from' the shock, and is now confined in an asylum.
