•THE OTAGO DOCK TRUST. IN THE MATTER OF A PROPOSED LOCAL BILL OR ACT. jURSUANT to the Provisions of ihe Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Local Bills, The Otago Dock Trust HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that Application "will be made to the General Assembly of N.Z. in Parliament assembled at the Session now about to be held for Leave to Introduce a Bill to be called "The Otago Dock Acts Amendment Act, 1906." The object of the said Bill is to provide that the Otago Dock Trust shall have power—(a) To purchase or lease lands and to erect an abattoir and to provide the necessary plant for carrying ou the business of an Abattoir and Slaughterhouse for the slaughter of stock for export beyond the Colony and for the purposes of the Borough of Port Chalmers and the surrounding District charging proper fee 3 and charges therefor. (b) To Lease an Abattoir for the above purposes. (c) To Enlarge the Trust's Cool Stores at Port Chalmers. (d) To Sell and Dispose of the Abattoir so erected as aforesaid or Let the same the proceeds of such sale (if any) being devoted to the payment of the moneys borrowed for the erection of the Abattoir. To empower the Trust to raise the sum of £5,000 by way of loan for the aforesaid purposes ad> a rate of interest not to exceed £5 per cent. To provide that the Abattoir so erected shall be an " Abattoir" and a. " Meat export Slaughter-house " within the meaning of " The Slaughtering and Inspection Act 1900." To provide that the Council of the Borough of Port Chalmers may delegate to the Trust the power to establish an Abattoir upon such terms and conditions as with the previous approval of the Minister for Agriculture may be agreed upon AND that in such case the rights powers and duties conferred by "The Slaughtering and Inspection Act ■ 1900 " upon the delegating local authority shall devolve upon the Trust. To provide that all moneys received by the Trust under.the borrowing powers contained in this Act shall be paid to a separate account and that the proposed Act shall be deemed to be a Special Act within the meaning of Section 188 of "The Harbors Act 1878." A: copy of the said proposed Bill is deposited in the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court at Port Chalmers, at which place,the same is open for public inspection during office hours.
