[Special to the Stab.] ASHBURTON - , July 2L XTi© Premier will spend Sunday in Timarn, and on Monday he will go on to Dunedin, to consult with representatives of the Union and Huddart-Parker Companies regarding shipping arrangements and fares for the Exhibition time. Ho will stay in Dunedin on Tuesday, return to Timaru on Wednesday, and return to Wellington from Lyttelton on Thursday evening. The Premier states that all the men arriving from Homo as assisted immigrants have been found work on the Main Trunk line, but, in view of the fact that the men axe arriving in the winter time, the Government decided early last month to advise tho_ High Commissioner to send no more until further instructed. Mr Hall-Jones cabled to Mr. Reeves accordingly. Satisfactory arrangements have been made for insuring the Exhibition buildings. Even the gate money is covered. The reciprocal agreement with the Commonwealth. drafted by the late Premier will be submitted to tho New Zealand and Commonwealth Parliaments simultaneously early next session,. Parliament meeting on August 21 as promised by the Premier before the prorogation this month. Tenders for tho Arthur’s Pass tunnel, on the Midland line, will close on Monday.
