HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.

At the annual meeting of the parishioners of Holy Trinity Church, Port Chalmers, to bo held to-night, the following report will bo presented:—The churchwardens and Vestry, in presenting their report and bal-ance-sheet for the year ended 30th June, have pleasure in congratulating parishioners on an improved position. The offertories show an increase, the amount being £163 7s, as against £l2O 14s 8d for the previous year. The total income for the year from all sources amounts to £440. The. Ladies' Guild have done wonderful work. The sum of £IOO has been paid off the oH debt on the church, leaving a balance of £l5O. The Guild have also paid the interest on the church debt to date, the cost of drainage at the vicarage, and have assisted tie Vestry to the extent of £lO on the general account. The churchwardens and Vestry thoroughly appreciate the work done by the ladies of the Guild, and take this opportunity of expressing their sense of obligation. The schoolroom has been re-roofed at a cost of £SB. This is the remit of straight-out giving, with the addition of a sum of £9 10a raised by art entertainment kindly tendered by the Girtoh Austral Club ol Duricdin. It will be necessary in the immediate future to raise funds for strengthening and painting tie building. The liability standing against the vicarage has ■ received attention on the part of the Vestry, but efforts to jilace matters upon a more satisfactory footing have proved abortive. It is imperative that the title to :tnd liability on the vicarage be put without delay on a sounder basis. Repairs, and additions to the building to the value of £3O have been paid for. The Sunday school balance-sheet presented by the treasurer (Miss Clemisdh) shows that the receipts amounted to £l9 6s 9d, and expenditure to £l6 15s 9cL There are 148 children on the roll* with f« urteeh teachers. A generous response to ah appeal for books.has resulted in the formsttioh of a useful library; There are rid words enough to express the indebtedness of the parish.to pur talented organist, Mhs Lees, who, in fair •weather and foul, I* always at her prist. Miss Lees does splendid work, often under conditions quite the reveree of encouraging. The church is extremely fortunate in its organist. Mr Arthur Gordon rendered valuable, assistance .for some months as lay reader. Since Mr Gordon's departure the office has remained unfilled.
