CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above Board was held at tho office of Mr T. S. Graham tliis afternoon. There wore present Messrs Wills (who occupied the chair), Arklc, T. Mackenzie, M.H.Pv., Mill, Anderson, 'and Dr Batchelor. The bank book and formal correspondence laid on the tabic showed a credit balance of £309 13s Id. A Benevolent Institution debit note for £6OO was submitted, with a list of expenditure, and the amount was passed. A chum on behalf of St. Mary's Industrial School, Nelson, for £l4l 7s 6d vas also passed for payment, as were a'-o other accounts amounting to £l2 15s. HOSPITAL BOARD. The meeting of the Hospital Board was then held, the same members as above being present, with the addition of Mr J. J. Marlow; The Hospital Trustees' claim for June (£666 13s 4d) was submitted and passed. —The Infectious Diseases Hospital Site. The Secretary detailed what had been done in thia matter. Dr Mason had been net by the Committee on the 12th, and the resuk was that it was resolved to send a. telegram to the Premier stating that on iccount of tho number of cases of scarlet (ever in the district the Board were anxious ;o make provision, and suggested the consideration of the Board's request to transfer or lease a site at Lake Logan which had been approved by the Chief "Health Officer. The Chief Health Officer also sent a wire to the Hon. Mr M'Gowan. Tho Premier replied that he was inquiring, and Mr Millar had wired them that tho Cabinet kid previously declined to approve of the transfer or lease of a site at Lake Logan for a hospital site. Tho Premier would arrive in Duradin on Monday, and personally report on the site hhnselt.

It was resolved that the acting Committee, the local members of Parliament, and Mr Mackenzie, M.H.R., meet tho Premier and show him the site, and that Mr Millar, 31. H.R., arrange the time.
