EGG-LAYING COMPETITION
. A Christchnrch message says :—Daring the sixth week of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's egg-laying competition at Lincoln College 565 eggs were laid, making a total to date of 5,524. The highest totals for the week were :—J. Ashton (silver Wyandottes), 26; W. M'Rae (peacock), 20; Mrs Gordon (brown Leghorns), 18; HI Pannell (buff Orpingtons), 17;" W. A.. Nixon (silver Wyandottes), 16; Lewis Birkner (black Qrpingtons), 15; J. Jackman (silver Wyandottes), 15.. The hignest totals to date are : M.' Blanch (silver Wyandottes), 153; J, Ashton (silver Wyandottes),-144; ,H. Pannell (buff Leghorns), 141; D. M. Peek (black Orpingtons), 140; F. O'Brien (silver Wyandottes), 129; H. Walton (white Orpingtons), 128; C R Wilson (black Orpingtons), 128.
