(Received, July 17, at 9 50 a.m.) In reference to the cable stating that the promoters of the new mail contract are. likely to receive an aggregate subsidy of a quarter of a million a year, Mr Deakin says that the contract with the.Fed<Tral Government is complete in itself, the subsidy being £125,000. He was inclined to think that the company were mnlrin? arrangements other than those with the Federal Government, possibly with New Zealand, but beyond that he knew nothing.
